# FactorPrism

> FactorPrism is a Snowflake Native App for AI-powered root cause analysis of business metrics. It answers the question "why did this metric change?": connect a Snowflake table and it opens with an instant one-sentence verdict of what moved and why, with the top factors ranked — before any configuration. All analysis runs inside the customer's Snowflake account; data never leaves it.

- Product type: Snowflake Native App, installed from the Snowflake Marketplace. The only integration is a read-only SELECT grant on the tables or views the customer chooses.
- What it does: proprietary AI-powered analysis attributes a metric's change across the dimensions you provide — region, product, channel, and their intersections — with each factor located at the level of the business where it acts.
- Results reconcile exactly to the total change being explained: no residual, no balancing plug.
- Instant verdict (new in version 5.0): the moment a table is connected, the app leads with a one-sentence answer — what moved, why, and the top factors ranked — before any configuration.
- Honest about dispersed causes: when a movement is spread across many small contributors rather than a few named factors, the results say so instead of forcing it onto a single named factor.
- Security: data never leaves the Snowflake account. The app runs under the account's existing governance and role-based access control.
- Pricing: free during early access, no card required. Post-GA (target Q4 2026), pricing follows Snowflake's consumption model — pay only for the warehouse compute used, billed through the existing Snowflake account, with no seat fees.
- Try it without connecting data: a built-in demo shows a complete analysis on sample data, and a 73-second video demo is on the website.
- Automation and agents: a headless stored procedure, API.RUN_DECOMPOSITION, runs the same analysis from a single SQL CALL — from Snowflake tasks, alerting pipelines, or AI agents such as Snowflake Cortex Code. A ready-made agent skill is published for Snowflake Cortex Code and Claude Code.
- Published accuracy benchmark: 280 blind engine runs against known injected causes, with recall, precision, and the degradation curve published.
